This is the third movement of The Lullaby Project Suite, written for the Felipe Salles' Interconnections Ensemble. Instrumentation includes 5 saxes (2 altos/flutes, 2 tenors/soprano/clarinets, bari/bass clarinet), 4 trumpets (with mutes), 4 trombones (with mutes), guitar, vibraphone, piano, bass, and drum set. Inspired by the Brazilian lullabies tradition, it features soprano sax, trumpet and vibraphone as soloists. It starts from modal soprano feature into a 3/2 Brazilian Marcha-Rancho groove, and moves, through metric modulations, back and forth to 5/4 and 4/4. Explorations of modal harmonies combined with 12-tone bass lines are also used.
