This is the last movement of The Lullaby Project Suite, written for the Felipe Salles' Interconnections Ensemble. Instrumentation includes 5 saxes (2 altos/flutes, 2 tenors/clarinets, bari/bass clarinet), 4 trumpets (with mutes), 4 trombones (with mutes), guitar, vibraphone, piano, bass, and drum set. Inspired by the Brazilian lullabies tradition, it features piano, and alto sax as soloists. It starts from a full band fanfare into a Brazilian Baião groove, and moves to a 3/4 Brazilian Maracatu, back and forth from 4/4 to 3/4. Explorations of modal harmonies and poly-tonal chords are also used.
