An out-of-print holiday classic is back with expanded optional big band instrumentation (see below). Holmes's medium Latin-Bossa treatment opens with an intro based on Deck the Halls followed by the harmonized melody played by trumpet 2/sax 1 and trumpet 3/sax 2. The trombones then play an ascending line handed off to the saxes to the key modulation where the ensemble shouts the melody. A return to the original key and introduction material sets up the alto 1 solo (written or improvised, also optionally written on the trumpet 2 part). Optional flugelhorns follow in soli fashion joined along the way by the saxes and trombones through another ensemble episode that peaks and returns via D.S back to the full melody and coda. Great holiday fare for high school, collegiate and professional big bands.

Soloists: alto sax (or trumpet 2/flugelhorn) The solo can be improvised or played as written. No sax doubles but sax 1 can be played either as soprano/alto, or alto only (both parts provided). 4 trumpets (flugelhorns optional), 4 trombones, piano (Fender Rhodes preferable), guitar, bass and drums. Optional parts included are flute/piccolo, horn, tuba, mallets (vibes/orchestra bells/chimes), and timpani (with shaker/triangle)
