An out-of-print patriotic classic is back. Holmes's medium straight 8th/Latin-Bossa treatment opens with a full ensemble intro followed by unison trombone/horn (opt.) melody for the first 16 bars. The melody switches to the trumpets with tutti ensemble, and a melodic extension/sendoff into the full chorus solo section with melodic-based backgrounds. The solo section has changes for alto 1, tenor 1 and trumpet 4 (flugelhorn preferred), as well as guitar/piano, and can be split between soloists (split at letter I). A quick ensemble interlude builds to a key change with the ensemble in full regalia to the end. Great for high school, collegiate, or professional ensembles, and quickly playable for both indoor and outdoor performances. Spirited playing, pacing, and not over-blowing is recommended.

Soloists: alto sax, tenor, trumpet 4 and/or guitar/piano. The flugelhorn part that subs for the horn part, and tuba part are included but not on the score. Rhythm section parts – piano, guitar, bass, and drums - can be played as notated or with more individual 'slash' reference. Hybrid midi/live instrument demo performance provided
