FEBRUARY NOTES: We recently released two more very special historic charts: 'Zat You Santa Claus? and Cool Yule as recorded by Louis Armstrong. We have had requests for these for years and we are thrilled to finally make them available. Louis Armstrong had the ability to take even the most gimmicky of songs and turn them into unforgettable masterpieces. Armstrong recorded 'Zat You, Santa Claus? in 1953 with an orchestra arranged by Salvador 'Tutti' Camarata, with the end results being humorous, infectious, and infinitely satisfying. One of the many songs composed by longtime television and radio personality Steve Allen, Cool Yule was first recorded by Armstrong in 1953. Between Allen's catchy tune, Armstrong's joyfully exuberant performance, and Camarata's bouncy arrangement, it should come as no surprise that Cool Yule has gone on to become a modern holiday favorite. Thanks to an agreement with the Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation, Inc. these publications were prepared using the original parts from the 1953 recording sessions - these are not transcriptions.

Our latest from Ella Fitzgerald and Nelson Riddle is Oh, So Nice. Another from Ella Fitzgerald Sings the George and Ira Gershwin Song Book record, this publication was prepared using Nelson Riddle's original pencil score. New also is another release from Marion Evans's fruitful association with Helen O'Connell, You Took Advantage of Me. Our Walrus Music Publishing's latest is another from our friend John La Barbera that he wrote for Woody Herman, Toothless Grin. SPECIALLY-PRICED MULTI-CHART SET NOTES: New today is a revised Count Basie Classics Ten Arrangement Set, which now includes our own editions of some of the band's most beloved tunes. Please scroll down and click on it for a set of unforgettable swing at its very best. We also have right below another new one, six Quincy Jones charts from the classic Ella and Basie! album of 1963. The voice of Ella Fitzgerald, the arranging of Quincy Jones, and the swingingest band that ever was--this is American music at its high point.

He explores the obstacles that today's best young jazz musicians face following the giants of earlier generations and the dwindling opportunities to make a living as a musician. But despite it all, Israels argues that jazz's enduring and rich legacy will not be lost and shows how it can be not just sustained but broadened in the years to come.

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS: January saw us release Love for Sale, Marion Evans's swinging vocal duet arrangement that was the title track of Tony Bennett's 2021 Cole Porter songbook album. Also new from this team are What Child is This? and Sometimes I'm Happy. These publications were also prepared using Marion Evans's original pencil scores - there are not transcriptions. We also released Quincy Jones's The Midnight Sun Will Never Set, as written for the Pepe Lienhard Orchestra.
