Allen Carter must have been seriously listening to the Don Ellis Orchestra when he arranged "Yellow Sunshine '16." The melody is harmonically a C minor blues, but is in 13/8 with shifting subdivisions throughout. The first solo section for tenor sax returns to a fast swing in 4/4, but the guitar solo returns to sees a return to the off-kilter 13/8 groove. This arrangement is not for the faint of heart, but is a sure fire show-stopper if you can pull it off!
