Edition: Jazz Big Band Arrangement
Description: Medium Difficult
Publisher: Walrus Music Publishing
This is a great, fun, and challenging up tempo blues in F. What really makes this chart challenging is that the tempo should be around 240 BPM for the quarter note, but, it can be played slower and still sound really cool. But, remember, half the fun of this chart is playing it at a burning tempo. The melody is 24 bars and the solos, soli, and tutti are in the standard 12 bar blues form (Key of F). There is a challenging sax soli and tutti section. Solos can be modified to include anyone in the band. The drums are featured at the very beginning of the chart with lots of solo fills during the melody. This chart is a crowd pleaser and can be used as an opener or closer for any professional or college jazz concert. Soloist: Piano, Tenor Sax, Piano, and Drums. Trumpet highest note C5 (A written C two octaves above middle C) Instrumentation: Four trumpets, four trombones, (the fourth being a bass trombone. Two altos, two tenors, one baritone sax. Rhythm: piano, bass, guitar and drums.
