This Allen Carter bossa nova is a wonderful feature for your star trombone player, as it will give them plenty of space as a melodic and improvising soloist. The ensemble shout sections are all relatively short, but should contain enough energy to properly galvanize the trombone soloist. The arrangement ends on an extended tag that is vaguely reminiscent of "Killer Joe," with each section stacking on top of each other until finally settling into one last warm chord under a trombone cadenza.
