This octet arrangement is a feature for the alto saxophone. There are, in the melody, some nice independent, syncopated horn lines that weave in and around each other. The solo section, for alto and guitar, is a nice blend of functional and non-functional harmony. The background figures for the solo section are very melodic and syncopated. Theres a nice modern melodic figure written for alto, bari, and guitar after the solo section.
