Originally written for tenor saxophonist Jacques Schwarz-Bart and recorded by Jacques and the Felipe Salles Interconnections Ensemble on the 2023 album Home is Here. A challenging piece that rethinks African pop in 12/8 and explores the many ways to subdivide and superimpose rhythmic ideas over the 12/8 groove. Featured soloists: tenor saxophone and trombone. It can be played with or without the tenor soloist. No vibes version – replace guitar part. No vbs/Gtr version – replace parts for piano, Tbn 1, tbn3, bass bn, tp1, 2,3, 4, ww 1 to 5, soloist part.
