Based on a modified blues (23 bars), this quasi-boogaloo (suggested drum groove is scored) includes some mixed meter written into the form. The arrangement features several interesting settings of the main theme, and linear writing for every player in the band. The main solo section has changes for Tenor 1, Trumpet 5, Trombone 1, and Piano, but could be opened up for anyone. Solo backgrounds may evoke the spirit of Ray Charles! Two choruses of ensemble development lead to an open drum solo over a vamp. The introduction can be opened up for Electric Bass. Lead Trumpet to written C, Trombone 1 to B flat. The original version (under a different title) appears the cd, And Another Thing, by the pianoless quartet Equilateral. This arrangement, originally scored to feature Equilateral with big bands, appears on UNI Jazz Band One cd, This Is The Band. Soloist Alto 2 (briefly), Electric Bass, Tenor 1/drums. Changes over the main solo section appear in Alto 1, Trumpet 5, and Trombone 1 as well as piano, vibes, and guitar.
