MARCH NOTES: (March 27th Update): We are thrilled to announce the first Jazz Lines Publications release from Toshiko Akiyoshi, Ten Gallon Shuffle. This chart is a hard-swinging good time from the first note to the last, but be warned, it's also just flat-out hard to play. Featuring a gnarly sax soli, rangy brass parts, and some challenging woodwind doubles, your band will surely get a good workout from this one.

It continues to be Christmas in March with even more of the Glenn Miller Orchestra's classic holiday arrangements. We now have from Dave Wolpe 12 Days of Christmas, Good King Wenceslas, and Yuletide Medley 1 and 2. We also have seven of the Dave Wolpe Nutcracker arrangements as recorded by the Miller Band on their 1997 album In the Nutcracker Mood; there will soon be a complete set of all of these fabulous charts. Also new is the beautiful solo trombone feature version of Silent Night from the Miller Band's 1988 album In the Christmas Mood. This publication was based on John La Barbera's original pencil score - this is not a transcription.

Bill Finegan's arrangement of Strike Up the Band as written for the Glenn Miller Orchestra is another new one. Finegan played a key role in shaping the classic sound of the Miller band, and this arrangement is a wonderful example of his skills as a writer. Even at the chart's brisk pace, the performance naturally glides along with an easy, effortless feel.

We are very pleased to announce the release of Buddy Rich's Nutville. First recorded on the The Roar of '74 album, Greg Hopkins's arrangement does an excellent job of giving the Horace Silver classic an appropriate reworking to fit Rich's iconic style. The chart is loud, aggressive, and intense from the first note to the last, with only a few brief moments along the way to let the audience (and band) catch their breath. It has also been added to the popular Buddy Rich 10 Arrangement Set right below.

We also have one of the very best specially-priced multi-chart sets we have ever offered: ten fabulous big band arrangements from one of the central figures of Jazz Lines Publications, Oliver Nelson. The set is right below and has some of his most beloved tunes - including Stolen Moments of course! - as well as his arrangement of In a Mellow Tone, and the Buddy Rich favorite Critic's Choice. Here's a set of jazz that is as good as it gets. Another new entry in this category is a set of seven Beatles classics for jazz ensemble.

NEW PDF DOWNLOADABLE ARRANGEMENTS NOTES: (March 27th Update): With today's addition of Michael Philip Mossman's difficult calypso version of St. Thomas, we now have an amazing 31 brand new and newly-available downloadable arrangements in March. Among the newest are the PDF version of the Miller band's Nutcracker charts and other holiday favorites, and our newest Jazz at Lincoln Center Essentially Ellington PDF is Lady Mac from Such Sweet Thunder.  Also newly-available are more holiday arrangements, Thad Jones's Return Journey and Bob Mintzer's Spectrum, and a variety of non-jazz songs as well: Stevie Wonder's Boogie on Reggae Woman, Prince's Thieves in the Temple, The Commodores' Brick House, Ozzy Osbourne's Crazy Train, and The White Stripes' Seven Nation Army.
