Although the Glenn Miller Orchestra was not typically known for playing in waltz time, Dave Wolpe's arrangement of We Wish You A Merry Christmas from In the Christmas Mood II shows that the Miller style is a natural fit for that feel. Beginning with a brass chorale, followed by a gentle woodwind section (with clarinet on top, of course), there's room for tenor sax and trumpet solos before the arrangement switches to a more traditional 4/4 pulse. Between the several references to Miller's hit "Pennsylvania 6-5000" scattered throughout and its tagged ending, your audience will surely enjoy this performance at your next holiday concert.
