Description: Rock - Medium

Originally written back in the 1920s by country blues singer Gus Cannon, "Walk Right In" became a hit in 1963 when it was covered by the folk rock group the Rooftop Singers. This Bob Florence arrangement was written for the Dave Pell Octet and recorded on their album "The Dave Pell Octet Plays Today's Hits in Jazz."
Taken at a noticeably quicker pace compared to the Rooftop Singers' version, it's a fairly straightforward arrangement that doesn't have any noticeably difficult parts from a technical perspective. A quick intro sets up the melody, which is handled by trombone, baritone sax, and guitar; a counterline in the trumpet and tenor sax is added in the second time through. The second main melody riff occurs at measure 22, with the horns playing together and some tasteful drum fills working their way into the gaps. After an open solo section, the arrangement loops back around on itself, ending with a simple tag after the second melody.
This publication was prepared from original set of parts from Dave Pell's library - this is not a transcription.
