Wake Up To A Melody is a gorgeous gospel styled ballad featuring tenor sax. The lyrical and gentle melody is supported with lush warm harmonies simply scored in moderate ranges for all instruments; the first trumpet only goes to written Bb above staff. This straightforward chart is simple yet effective; I would rate it easy to intermediate. It doesn't frequently happen to me, but I did wake up one morning with this melody in my head and the chart was completed by the end of the day. The chart became a staple in the big band I was playing in, the Salt Lake Alternative Jazz Orchestra. Soloist: 1st tenor sax.5/4/4/g/p/b/d. Easy Medium.
