Description: Swing - Medium Difficult

"Taking Flight" is a playfully swinging arrangement that is written for trumpet soloist, but contains alternate parts to allow you to feature whatever instrument you would like. The melody is overall somewhat delicate, but the shout section following the solo should be played with boistrous enthusiasm. The beginning and ending of the arrangement feature some easy woodwind doubles, and aside from a few quick saxophone lines and some moderately rangey brass parts this arrangement is not overly difficult. Although not indicated in the score, measures 38 to 77 can be repeated in order to create additional solo choruses.
