This modern jazz composition was inspired at least in part by Herbie Hancock's "Speak Like A Child." The feel throughout is straight 8ths; think ECM, but with more intensity. Ensemble passages often feature cross-section writing and interweaving melodic lines, so each musician should be aware of who they are playing with at any given time. The solo changes (written for trumpet and tenor sax) are fairly difficult and should require some attention. Dynamics, especially during the interlude sections between solos, must be observed in order to produce a full dramatic effect.
