Edition: Jazz Studio Orchestra Arrangement with Vocal Soloist and Male Vocal Quartet

Description: Swing - Medium

Publisher: Jazz Lines Publications

Frank Loesser wrote this song for the 1956 Broadway musical The Most Happy Fella. In April of that same year Dean Martin recorded this arrangement for Capitol Records with Dick Stabile and His Orchestra and Chorus. The chart was written by Hollywood heavyweight Gus Levene and featured a male vocal quartet backing Martin. Taking its cue from the lyrics and general theme of the Loesser song, this arrangement was conceived to have a bawdy feel to it. The male vocal group consists of two tenors and two baritones. But, this arrangement can certainly be performed with just a vocal soloist. In addition, there are no trumpet parts for this arrangement and an optional synthesizer part is included that may be used in place of the strings.
