This bright samba from Tom Kubis puts the rhythm section in the spotlight right off the bat, with the piano handling the first melody statement and the bass getting a brief solo before the horns come in. The melody has an unusual form that will require some listening to in order to feel how it flows. The solo section is followed by an extended C minor vamp that starts in the rhythm section and gradually adds more instruments and complexity before exploding into a rhythmically disjointed final melody statement that ends with a rapidly slowing piano riff.
