So You Say is a contemporary, Pat Methany-style samba that features solo space for guitar/piano, alto sax and trumpet/flugelhorn. The chart opens with 'a capella' horns at a tempo before the rhythm section joins with the samba groove. The baritone doubles on flute for the ensemble soli that follows the solo section. The flute part is doubled in trumpet 1 and can be omitted if need be. So You Say closes with an open repeat that brings back the soloists in a collective improvisation form.
