In 1935 Bing Crosby recorded Silent Night and Adeste Fideles, the first time he would record Christmas-related songs. He later recorded Silent Night in 1942 and then again in 1947 (essentially the same arrangement by John Scott Trotter). This Crosby recording has been one of the most recognizable and cherished holiday favorites over the years having appeared on many Bing Crosby Christmas compilations. The vocal choir [SATB] was arranged by Ken Darby and performed by the Ken Darby Singers.

The arrangement was written for Bing with four woodwinds, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, 3 violins, viola, cello, guitar, celeste/piano, and acoustic bass. For some reason, the viola and cello parts were not used for the 1947 recording but were used in 1942. Those parts are included with this publication and may be used at the discretion of the conductor. This publication was based on the original John Scott Trotter score and the set of parts used for the recording session - this is not a transcription.
