Another Tom Kubis update of an old standard, "Side by Side" is unique in two ways. First, it shifts back and forth between a swing and hip-hop feel. Second, it features the bass trombone as the primary melody instrument. Your trombone section will get a great workout during their post-melody soli. The arrangement is almost entirely through-composed, with the only exception being a couple of quick alto sax solo fills.
