Edition: Jazz Studio Orchestra Arrangement
Description: Swing - Medium
Publisher: Jazz Lines Publications
This movement is from Oliver Nelson's work The Kennedy Dream, written and recorded in 1967. The instrumentation of the arrangement was originally 5 reeds (English horn instead of oboe), 2 trumpets, 2 horns in F, strings, and rhythm section. When Oliver went to perform this in Holland he added trombone parts to take the place of strings. Both sets of parts are included with this publication so that it may be played by a conventional big band (with reed doubles). Featured is an alto saxophone solo (originally played by Phil Woods).
