Ella Fitzgerald turned to Paul Weston to craft the arrangements for her classic album Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Irving Berlin Song Book (1958). His arrangement of Irving Berlin's 1925 song Remember manages to maintain the bittersweet mood of the song's lyrics while at the same time giving it a lightly swinging sense of levity. The arrangement is overall not very challenging, but the first trumpet part is a bit on the 'rangey' side at times.

The form of the song is repeated three times in total. The first time features Fitzgerald performing the melody in a slow, rubato 3/4 feel while accompanied only by celeste (or piano). A measure of walking bass sets a medium swing tempo at measure 35 that stays throughout the rest of the arrangement. Fitzgerald sings the melody again, this time with the horns joining in for some Billy May-esque accompaniment at times.

The band's time to shine comes in at the pickups to measure 67. The brass and saxes initially engage in a musical game of tag before coming together in rhythmic unison at measure 75. Fitzgerald returns at measure 83 and handles melody duties for the remainder of the form, with the ensemble slowly building around her to a brassy conclusion.
