This medium-up tempo swinger, as recorded on the New Yorkestra big band CD "Urban Soundscapes" (Seabreeze Jazz SB-2134) is based on an extended modal blues structure, and features many challenging and exciting ensemble passages. Solos are scored for soprano sax (alto 1 chair) and trumpet, but can easily be opened up for other soloists. Doubles: alto 1: soprano (throughout). Lead trumpet has one high D and high Eb concert, plus a few tricky ensemble figues. Difficult level.
