Description: Latin - Medium
Publisher: Walrus Music Publishing
Otoño (commissioned by Curtis Gaesser for the Folsom Jazz Festival) is a moody, medium-tempo Latin chart, based on the changes of another well-known tune about fall foliage. It's an ideal "middle-of-the-set" tune. The solo is in Tenor 1, and can easily be opened up for other players. The changes are very manageable for intermediate+ players. Sample voicings are provided for piano. The guitar part can also be played on vibes. If you have both, have vibes play the lines, and guitar comp on a nylon string. Nice! Subtle auxiliary percussion (not provided) would also be an effective touch. Medium.
