A unique take on the classic blues formula, Ian McDougall's "O.S. Blues" has multiple shifts in both time feel and key signature over the course of its performance. The arrangement shifts back and forth between an F and Bb blues, and the time feel, while staying swinging throughout, cuts between a medium swing and slow half-time feel. Soloists and ensemble alike will get a chance to flex their musical muscles over all of these sections. Trumpet and trombone are the featured soloists. The post-solo section shout chorus is quite challenging and will require attention in order to be able to execute cleanly and tightly.

This arrangement was recorded in 2006 for the "No Passport Required" album.
