Tom Kubis' "My Way Back To You" can almost be thought of as a throwback to the Tommy Dorsey era of romantic ballads while still maintaining a modern sense of harmony and melody. The arrangement starts with just trombone and piano, gradually adding more pieces to the puzzle until the shout chorus near the end. Trombone is featured throughout as melody and improvising soloist, with a brief cameo solo from alto sax.
