A beautiful Billy Strayhorn ballad arranged as a slow jazz waltz. The opening and closing are rubato sections played by solo piano. Solo changes are for alto sax 1 (soprano) or trumpet. The solo can also be divided between the two. Alto sax 1 plays soprano throughout. An alternate alto part is provided that avoid the soprano double. Trumpets double flugelhorns. The recording features the Howard University Big Band with the solo part played on alto saxophone.
