This duet for trumpet and trombone investigates tandem figures and mostly identical rhythms for the two instruments at different intervals. Using jazz phrasing, they play the phrases from a unison to an octaves and, at different points in the composition, all other intervals as well. However, there is occasional contrary and oblique motion. The trombone part is originally written in bass and tenor clef (in the high range), but an all-bass clef part is supplied as well. The lower range extends into the bass trombone range. A transposed score is provided.
