This is a tribute to one of my all time favorite and often overlooked trumpet players, Kenny Dorham. This arrangement incorporates the classic jazz quintet sound of the trumpet-tenor front line and is also a tip of the hat to the fact that Kenny also played tenor. The trumpet solo is by Brandon Lee who I met as a student in 1999. It was such a pleasure to witness his growth as a musician and include him on this recording.
