"Keepin' On" is an even-keeled medium swing that should always feel relaxed even when the performance is at its loudest and most intense. The melody is initially handled by a band-within-a-band before gradually expanding to the entire horn section. Keep an eye out for some of the tricky rhythms that occasionally pop up. The shout chorus should be powerful, but not overwhelming. Solos are for trumpet, bass, trombone, and piano. There is an alternate baritone sax part that removes the bass clarinet double.
