Rhythm Section: Piano, Bass, Drums, Guitar INCLUDES FULL SCORE With its more traditional hard bop lines and chord changes, this composition is straight out of the Blakey tradition. This is a straight ahead swinger with relentless energy. There are some unison bebop lines that must be executed by the entire horn section, but they're very idiomatic and will not pose a problem for a group with some knowledge of the jazz language. SOLOS: The changes are reminiscent of Dizzy Gillespie's Woody 'n You and Tadd Dameron's Hot House and consist almost entirely of II-Vs that logically connect to one another. This intuitive progression through different keys makes them fun to play over. This is a great set of changes for a soloist who can convincingly navigate II-Vs or anyone wanting to become more familiar with them.
