Taken from her classic Cole Porter Song Book album, Ella Fitzgerald's recording of Buddy Bregman's arrangement I've Got You Under My Skin is a simple yet effective reading of this standard. It's also a good chance to give your sax and trumpet sections a break during live performances, as the accompanying ensemble consists of only four trombones and rhythm section (see the contents tab).

After a short 4-bar introduction from the cup muted trombones, Fitzgerald takes center stage with the melody at measure 5, with some easy-going accompaniment from the rest of the band. The arrangement is a vocal feature throughout. This arrangement is not complicated, but following the articulations will be key to the interpretation. As always, listening to the original recording is essential.
