This tune is part of a collaboration project of double quartets. I Got Nothin’ but Nothin’ was written for, performed live, and recorded by FOUR and the Miami Saxophone Quartet. Initially Hard Bop in style, the arrangement navigates from its blues form and melody to a modal section of new melody over a “Night Train”-like pad to a Bebop soli and a New Orleans Street Beat groove solo. Improvisation is in the Miami bari, FOUR alto, and Miami tenor.
