Tchaikovsky’s Land Of Sweets becomes the opening of Act II, which is a posh nightclub circa 1929. Everyone is dancing and carrying on. The cigarette girl and waiter serving champagne have their solo spots. The women are sexy in a classy way and the gentlemen are in tuxedos, but that doesn’t stop them from getting down on the Booty Dance. The double-time stride piano and ensemble choruses perk things up before the return to the shuffle tutti shout and vamp ending. Style: Medium Shuffle (mm. 116) and Double-Time (mm. 232).
