For the Love of Money is a soul/funk tune written by Gamble/Huff/Jackson in 1973 and made famous by The O'Jays. In 1974, Thad Jones took the tune to a whole new level, scoring it for big band with lush harmonies and joyous voicing. It was featured on the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band LP Potpourri, recorded by Philadelphia International– which included pop tunes such as Living for the City, Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing, Quiet Lady. Not long after that recording, the sheet music went missing. I have done a note-for-note transcription from the original big band recording. Since there is a harmonica solo at the beginning, I suggest that bands without such a soloist, have their keyboardist cover those notes on synthesizer with harmonica patch, or by using a melodica. There is otherwise little in the keyboard part.
