Early Sunday Morning is a ballad commissioned by the Commission Project for Foxboro High School. It is an even 8th-note, gentle ballad with a flugelhorn solo as well as an open piano solo. It opens with a lush chorale followed by the flugel melody. Lead trumpet goes up to a high Db just above the staff. Flugelhorn and Piano Solos 3 trumpets with flugels, 1 flugel, 4 trombones Soprano Sax, Alto Sax, Clarinet, Tenor Sax, Bari Sax. Soprano Sax with Flute double Tenor Sax with Clarinet double Alternate parts that have no doubles for Soprano Sax, Tenor Sax 1 (alternate to Clarinet) and Tenor Sax 2 (alternate to Tenor Sax with Clarinet).
