This tune has a mysterious, spooky character. The melody is orchestrated for trombone in cup mute and bass clarinet with flute, clarinet and cup mute trumpet in the accompanying texture. It's my idea of Horace's Halloween music. In this case, the eighth notes in the tune are nearly all played in 12/8 feel. But there is useful contrast in playing the bridge melody eighth notes more smoothly.
