Based on the chord progression from the Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn classic "Take the A Train", this chart opens with the train's arrival at the station where it's "All Aboard!" for a fun swinging adventure. Trombone and alto sax solos (written solos provided) are followed by "trading fours" between the brass and the bassist (written solos are provided here as well). A full-bodied shout chorus follows, including an 8 bar sax soli. Our musical adventure comes to a close with the train pulling back into the station with smiles all around.
