Here is Al Cohn's arrangement of Art Farmer's tune Blueport, written for the Gerry Mulligan Concert Jazz Band. This arrangement was performed live a few times in 1960, including at the Newport Jazz Festival. The arrangement features some interesting counterpoint as well as great backgrounds during the solo sections. This is a perfect tune for festivals as it allows the band to showcase individual members throughout the course of the arrangement. This has been edited and engraved directly from the original parts. However, some of the arrangement was added by Mulligan. And, those parts have been transcribed from the recordings.
