NOVEMBER NOTES: Our newest release is another John La Barbera chart as written for Buddy Rich, Sassy Strut. John says: "Sassy Strut is one of the many last minute compositions/arrangements I did for a Buddy Rich recording. We were getting ready for what would be our last LP for RCA and I wanted something to feature my friend and guitarist Walt Namuth who was a major part of Buddy's rhythm section at the time. We played this at a gig just before the recording session (with RCA executives in house) and Buddy decided to let Walt 'take it out.' The crowd went wild so the guitar solo became a feature on the recording with a short and long take." Also recently released is Backwoods Sideman from Buddy Rich, featured on the Buddy Rich Orchestra's 1974 release, The Roar of '74.

Brand new also is another one from the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Deane Kincaide's arrangement of 'S Wonderful. We also just released another from Quincy Jones, Billy Byers's Evening in Paris. Another re-engraved entry in the Dave Pell Prez Conference Series is Bill Holman's arrangement of Oh! Lady Be Good. Also in November are a bunch more of David Berger's charts from his Harlem Nutcracker.

We recently released our first holiday arrangement from Dean Martin, Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! from the pen of Gus Levene. Also brand new are two more from The First Lady of Song, Ella Fitzgerald: Buddy Bregman's arrangements of All Through the Night and It's All Right with Me from the Cole Porter Song Book album.

Our newest releases from the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra's Big Band Holidays records are Silent Night from Victor Goines and Sherman Irby's arrangements of Merry Christmas, Baby and Snowfall.

Featured on the Buddy Rich Orchestra's 1974 release, The Roar of '74, this raucous John La Barbera rock chart was written to feature tenor saxophonists Pat La Barbera and Bob Crea - as well as drummer Buddy Rich. There are no saxophone doubles.

Few voices are more associated with the holiday season than the silky smooth baritone of Bing Crosby, and we have another holiday chart from him, Looks Like a Cold, Cold Winter, as written by Sy Oliver.

And Jack Montrose's reworking of If I Could Be with You (One Hour Tonight) for the Dave Pell Octet puts an innovative fresh coat of pain on the classic tune.
