Introducing 2024 Alfred Publishing New Issues! We now have eight of these listed, with more to come ASAP. New is a Scott Ragsdale vocal arrangement of 'You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To' and an easy version of 'Blue Skies' from Victor López. We also have new originals from Kris Berg and Drew Zaremba, two new charts on Wes Montgomery tunes, and a Mike Kamuf take on 'Battle Hymn of the Republic' based on the classic Clark Terry version. Our raging river of great new historic releases continues to flow unabated with Ella Fitzgerald's version of 'Anything Goes', as arranged by Buddy Bregman for the 1956 Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Cole Porter Song Book album, as well as another from Nelson Riddle and the Gershwin record, 'My One and Only'. We also have another from our friend Marion Evans, 'Blue (and Broken Hearted)' as recorded by Helen O'Connell. Marion and Helen had a great working relationship, and he especially enjoyed arranging for her.

'Avenue C' is another new Jazz Lines Publications release. It is considered one of the cornerstone performances of the classic era of the Count Basie Orchestra. This arrangement, courtesy of the pen of Frank Foster, was recorded by the Basie band on their commemorative album The Count Basie Story, which was released in 1961 to celebrate the band's 25th anniversary. Also new is another small group chart from Joe Newman, 'Mean to Me' for sextet. This Al Cohn chart was written for Newman's 1957 album The Happy Cats.

Originally known as the theme song for the Claude Thornhill Orchestra, 'Snowfall' was the title track for Tony Bennett's 1968 Christmas album. Robert Farnon's arrangement is quite short, but it's an unforgettable musical experience for anyone who listens to it.

When Rob McConnell gets his hands on a standard, you can be assured that said standard will be reconfigured in every possible way imaginable by the time the arrangement comes to a close! 'You Took Advantage of Me' is no exception to that rule, as it features a number of key changes, driving rhythms, and creative harmonic and melodic alterations that will make it a thrilling challenge for your ensemble.

We also have another re-edited and re-engraved arrangement from Bob Florence, 'Autumn.' Now with a full score, this one has a trombone choir open and it is a simple and well-orchestrated ballad that is a tenor feature with some sax doubles.

This is a ballad that I wrote for Bill Watrous's Grammy-nominated Tiger of San Pedro album, that, for whatever reason, never made it to the final release. Though Bill strongly disagreed at the time, legendary producer John Hammond was convinced, and rightly so, that Bill's strong suit for appealing to the general record-buying public would be ballads.

The score highlights Bill's exceptional range but the solo trombone part can be played without the 8va passages and be a suitable trombone feature. The flute and flugelhorn parts are optional but add a nice variety to the scoring. The solo trombone can take liberties with the time on the introduction and ending for dramatic effect especially if playing the melody 8va.This is a ballad that I wrote for Bill Watrous's Grammy-nominated Tiger of San Pedro album, that, for whatever reason, never made it to the final release.
