Cole, Natalie
Natalie Cole's life in music seems almost predestined in hindsight; her father and uncle, Nat "King" Cole and Freddie Cole, were both acclaimed pianists and singers. Unlike the more jazz-oriented sound of her relatives, Cole embraced sould and pop music, embarking on a successful solo career after her 1975 recording "This Will Be" won a Grammy Award. After a bit of a career lull in the 1980s, her 1991 overdubbed duet with her father on "Unforgettable" put her back in the limelight. She continued performing and recording until her passing in 2015.
