Weisheit, Jim
Ohio native, Jim Weisheit, joined the Musicians' Union at 15, and began performing professionally. While in High School in Columbus, Jim spent summers attending the Stan Kenton Clinics at: Indiana University, Michigan State University and Univ. of Nevada at Reno. This experience provided a great foundation for further studies.
A move to So. Calif. opened new opportunities for work and education. Percussion studies with: John DeSoto (Gil Evans Orch.), Walter Goodwin (Los Angeles Phil.) ,Ed Thigpen (Oscar Peterson Trio). Studies in: Composition, Arranging,Orchestration,and Film Scoring with: Dick Fenno, Russ Garcia, Dick Grove, Allyn Ferguson, Albert Harris,Dave Grusin, Grove School of Music. Music preparation with Stan Sheldone and Clinton Roemer.
Toured the U.S. with Columbia Artists Community Concerts, and other groups and ensembles. Orange County Symphony, a number of Big Bands, Rock bands and Show Groups (Nevada Circuit).
Music Theater performance and production for/with: Nelson Eddy Show, Glen Campbell Show, Andy Williams Show, Kaye Ballard, Florence Henderson, Diane Keaton. Music production work at Paramount Pictures and Fox Studios, including: Dallas, Dead Poets Society,Eraser, Independence Day, MacGuyver, Ransom, The Simpsons,Star Trek VI, Star Trek (the next Generation),Academy Awards. Music production work for: Glen Campbell, Tex Beneke, Vic Damone, Ray Charles, Duke Ellington Orch.,Trini Lopez, Righteous Bros., Mills Bros., Lennon Sisters, Rose Marie, Kay Starr, Jack Sheldon, Ed Thigpen, Disneyland, Disney World, Disney Tokyo, Euro Disney, Epcot Center, Billy May, Frank Comstock, Tom Kubis, Bob Florence, Kim Richmond, Alf Clausen. Music Production for Publishers: Hal Leonard, Kendor, Walrus.
Compositions and Orchestrations have been performed by: Orange Coast Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, BBC Philharmonic, Sydney Opera House Orchestra, Pacific Symphony, and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.
