Gene is a former member of the sax section in the U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors (1975 – 2009). He attended the University of Miami, later earning his BM degree in performance from Catholic University and a MM in composition from the University of Maryland. Gene is active as a freelance musician and clinician in the Baltimore-Washington area.
