Kessler, Steve
Steve Kessler is a composer, arranger, orchestrator, conductor, recording artist, trombonist, piano player, performer, clinician, and educator. He is a recently retired Middle School Band Director from the Cornwall Central Schools in upstate New York.
Steve holds a BM in Music Education from The Crane School of Music; a M.M in Performance from SUNY Binghamton as well as a School District Administrator’s Masters from SUNY New Paltz.
Steve studied theory and composition privately with Robert Washburn, Elliot DelBorgo and Arthur Frackenpohl. He offers clinics in composition and arranging throughout New York State.
He is presently the composer/arranger for the Big Band Sound. He is also the composer/arranger for national singing sensation Doug Ferony where he also plays trombone and keyboards. Steve is an active musician in community theaters either as Music Director, rehearsal pianist or trombonist.
Steve is also an active adjudicator for several music festivals each year. He has played with the following: Tony Bennett, Chaka Khan, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Barry Manillow, Englebert Humperdink, Mel Torme, Bobby Vinton, Connie Francis, The Dells, Gloria Loring, Vic Damone, Bob Crosby, Al Martino, Frankie Vallie, Lou Rawls, Jerry Vale, The Tommy and Jimmy Dorey Orchestras, The Sammy Kaye Orchestra, The Lettermen, The Stylistics, Sammy Davis, Jr. and many more.
In addition to the nightly gigs, Steve is also the Organist at St. Joachim & St. John’s Church, Beacon, NY. He is blessed with a beautiful wife and four wonderful children.
