Hager, Orrin
Orrin Hager started his musical career with US Air Force Bands. After leaving the Air Force, he worked as a musician with several bands. In 1963 he attended Winona State University and graduated with a B.S. in Music Education. After Winona, Orrin attended North Texas State University in Denton. TX where he did graduate study in composition and jazz, was a member of the One O’clock Lab Band, and participated in a U.S. State Department Tour of Mexico. In 1967, he went to the University of Northern Iowa where he was a graduate assistant and director of stage Band II while receiving a Master of Arts in Music. In 1968, Orrin began his teaching career as Instructor of Instrumental Music for grades 4-6 in the Minneapolis Public Schools. For five years, beginning in 1977, he published arrangements for jazz ensemble with Kjos, SPR, and Schmitt Music. At the same time, and until 1997, Orrin was Instructor of Instrumental Music for grades 5-8 at Sorensen Middle School in St. Croix Falls, WI. Orrin is currently writing music for the Educational Market.
