Jones, Ron

We are thrilled to announce the first releases in the brand new Walrus Music Publishing Ron Jones series.

Emmy-Award-winning composer and arranger Jonesis best known for his extensive work in scoring music for television, which includes Star Trek: The Next Generation, Family Guy, American Dad, Magnum P.I., The A-Team, The Smurfs, and much more, as well as extensive film scoring. Born in Kansas City, Kansas, Ron moved to Los Angeles to study at the Dick Grove School of Music.

Taking advantage of the tremendous opportunties that then existed in Hollywood for people with his talents, Ron began working in television while still a student, and quickly developed a reputation as tremendously astute, creative, and productive composer able to create in styles ranging from pop/rock to classical to jazz. He met Seth McFarlane, and was instrumental in the creation of Family Guy, which led to a close association between the two which continues today. McFarlane sometimes appears with Ron's Influence Jazz Orchestra singing his beloved Sinatra classics. Ron and his wife Laree recently relocated to the beautiful Pacific Northwest where they are developing SkyMuse Studio, a creative paradise which will feature state of the art recording and video capabilities, and facilities to allow musicians the luxury of spectacular surroundings as well as the best technical facilities anywhere.

We've known Ron for years, he's been a long-time very generous customer, and he's a good friend as well. We're truly happy to welcome him aboard our growing roster of spectacular writers.

Ron is very interested in and involved with helping composers, musicians, and students move forward and be as successful as possible. He teaches, holds master classes at his studio, and founded and led the Academy of Scoring Arts an educational non-profit. He leads his all-star 23-piece Influence Jazz Orchestra which has many of L.A.'s best jazz and session players performing to sold out venues. He also conducts concerts which feature his music and appeared with the London Philharmonic at Royal Albert Hall as part of the Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage concert tour. Ron is very dedicated to live music and to bringing great players and performances to audiences.
