Edition: Jazz Big Band Arrangement
Description: Latin - Medium
Publisher: Jazz Lines Publications
Duke Ellington arranged this Juan Tizol melody in 1941. This is a great trombone and violin feature. The violin part was originally played by trumpeter Ray Nance; hence, there were only 2 trumpet parts written. For this publication the violin solo part is included in trumpet 2 in the event that a violinist is not available. This arrangement is full of brilliant ensemble voicings and interplay. Here's a great way to feature trombone and a guest violinist!
